Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Alejandro Portillo Guerrero (“we”, “us”), the developer of Cozy Culprits (“the app”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.
The short version: Play the game, enjoy it, don’t try to break it or resell it. Purchases go through Apple, and Apple handles refunds. The game is provided as-is, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under your local law.
1. Your licence to play
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment, in line with the Apple Standard End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which applies to this app. You do not own the app; you’re licensed to use it.
2. In-app purchases & refunds
- The app offers optional in-app purchases, including consumable hint packs and a one-time “Remove Ads”. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. We do not process payments and never receive your payment details.
- Hints are virtual items with no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. Consumable hints are used up as you play.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. To request one, use reportaproblem.apple.com. Because we can’t issue App Store refunds ourselves, please direct billing questions to Apple.
- We may change the items offered, their contents, or their prices over time. Changes don’t affect purchases you’ve already made.
3. Ads
The free version of the app may display advertising. Rewarded ads are always optional and only shown if you choose to watch one for a reward. Purchasing “Remove Ads” disables interstitial ads. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising and your choices work.
4. Acceptable use
Please don’t:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the app’s source code or puzzle-generation logic, except where that restriction is prohibited by law;
- cheat, tamper with, or manipulate leaderboards, timers, streaks, or the hint economy, or use bots or automated tools;
- copy, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from the app or its content; or
- use the app in any unlawful way or in a way that disrupts it for other players.
We may limit or end your access if you materially breach these Terms.
5. Intellectual property
The app and everything in it — its puzzles, artwork, characters, text, design, and the “Cozy Culprits” name and logo — are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don’t grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.
Cozy Culprits is an independent game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Apple, Murdle, or any other third-party product mentioned for comparison. Those names belong to their respective owners.
6. Availability & changes
We work to keep the app running well, but we don’t promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may update, change, or discontinue features (including the daily challenge or online leaderboards) at any time. Some features depend on Apple services and your internet connection.
7. Disclaimers
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing here affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. However, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. Any maintenance, support, or product warranty is our responsibility to the extent required by law, not Apple’s. The Apple Standard EULA also applies and, where it conflicts with these Terms, the Apple EULA governs your use of the app on Apple devices.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protections of mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
